Wallingford

A Treefriend do

December 2007

Wallingford is the neighborhood east of Ballard/Fremont and west of the University District.  It has more than enough gross national chain stores to keep even the most frightened and provincial tourist feeling reasonably safe, but since

The Heart of Seattle

Seattle already has way more than our share of hose people, mostly recent transplants from California who get nervous if they get 25 yards away from a mall, I did not include the chains in hopes of discouraging any more of those types from visiting.

Bizzaros Café is one of those places visitors will not find on their own. It is the veritable “Hole in the Wall” only locals or frequent visitors know about. Located one block north of 45th and half a block east of Stone Way (1307 N 46th St). Very well prepared Italian dishes. Small portions, but delicious. Service is unpredictable.

Satanic Pizza Guy leers outside the door of Olympic Pizza. It’s enough to make a person go to Tuta Bella instead (pictured on page two).

One of my favorite movie theaters, the Guild 45th is in the heart of Wallingford.  I only go when it’s crowded though, because lots of people keep the rats from scampering through the deserted aisles.
